The 1998 DVD included deleted scenes that are now presumed lost

Warner Home Video released Logan's Run on DVD in 1998 (and again in 2000). The disc included deleted scenes as extras — footage cut from the theatrical release to secure a PG rating. The most significant cut material included extended ice-cave sequences with extensive nudity (where Box asks Logan and Jessica to pose for his ice sculpture), a "knock-down, drag-out fight" between Jessica and Holly 13, and a sequence of Francis hunting a Runner at the film's opening. Additional extras included two vintage featurettes, an essay about the film, reprinted American Cinematographer magazine material, script excerpts, and production photo galleries. (wikipedia, imdb)

The deleted footage included on the DVD appears to be the only surviving copy. The original film elements for these sequences are now presumed lost. A special advance screening on May 7, 1976 contained almost twenty minutes of additional footage that was entirely cut before the June theatrical release. (wikipedia)

The 2009 Blu-ray preserved the grain but skipped the LaserDisc extras

Warner Home Video released the Blu-ray on November 10, 2009, on a BD-50 dual-layer disc. The transfer is 1080p/VC-1 at the film's original 2.40:1 aspect ratio.

The video review from High Def Digest noted the transfer was honest about its age rather than digitally scrubbed:

"The movie looks surprisingly decent" without full restoration — maintaining the original grain "without any attempt to wipe it away through Digital Noise Reduction." — High Def Digest (2009)

Colors were described as "a little dull and sometimes appear faded," attributed to 1970s film stocks rather than transfer problems. Some gatefloat wobble was noted during the opening and closing credits. (highdefdigest)

The audio fared better. The Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track drew particular praise:

"I can't get over how great this disc sounds." — High Def Digest (2009)

Jerry Goldsmith's score was singled out as having "plenty of reverberant bass" reproduced "in excellent fidelity." (highdefdigest)

The commentary track pairs the director, the star, and the costume designer

The Blu-ray's primary extra is an audio commentary featuring director Michael Anderson, star Michael York, and costume designer Bill Thomas, recorded separately. York used the commentary to reflect on the film's place in science fiction history:

"This film preceded a lot of other science fiction films in which the special effects did really become special." — Michael York, Blu-ray audio commentary, High Def Digest (2009)

The disc also includes "A Look into the 23rd Century," a nine-minute vintage promotional featurette with behind-the-scenes footage and cast interviews (in standard definition), and the theatrical trailer (also SD). (highdefdigest)

Earlier LaserDisc editions carried extras the Blu-ray dropped

Previous LaserDisc editions of Logan's Run included additional featurettes, essays, and still galleries that were not carried forward to the Blu-ray release. The Blu-ray's extras package is notably thinner than what was available on earlier formats, and there has been no special edition or director's cut release. (highdefdigest)

The film is available digitally but has not received a 4K restoration

As of 2026, Logan's Run is available through multiple digital platforms including Google Play, iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and Movies Anywhere. No 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray or HDR remaster has been announced. The 2009 Blu-ray remains the highest-quality physical release. (blu-ray.com)

The TV series received its own Blu-ray release

The complete fourteen-episode Logan's Run television series (1977-1978) was released on Blu-ray, preserving the short-lived CBS adaptation starring Gregory Harrison and Heather Menzies. (highdefdigest)
