In the climax of Frozen II (2019), the main character, Elsa, journeys to Ahtohallan, a mythical glacier located across the treacherous Dark Sea.
Ahtohallan is described in the film’s lullaby, "All Is Found," as a "river full of memory" that holds all the answers about the past. Geographically, it is a massive glacier of ice located at the edge of the world, far north of the Enchanted Forest. To reach it, Elsa must cross the Dark Sea on her own, where she tames the Nøkk (the water spirit in the form of a horse) to ride across the waves.
Elsa travels to Ahtohallan for several specific reasons:
The lullaby warns, "Dive down deep into her sound / But not too far or you'll be drowned." Because Elsa ventures "too deep" into the most painful memories to find the truth, she becomes physically frozen in the depths of the glacier. Before she is fully encased in ice, she uses her magic to send a message to her sister, Anna, revealing the truth about the dam. This sets in motion the final resolution, where Anna destroys the dam to break the curse and free the forest, which subsequently thaws Elsa and allows her to return to save Arendelle.

At the climax of Frozen II, the main character, Elsa, travels to Ahtohallan, a mythical glacier (described as a river of memory) located across the Dark Sea, north of the Enchanted Forest. She goes there to find the source of the mysterious voice calling her and to uncover the truth about her magical powers and the past. There, she discovers she is the Fifth Spirit, that the voice is the memory of her mother (Iduna), and that her grandfather (King Runeard) betrayed the Northuldra by building the dam as a trap and murdering their leader. As a consequence of venturing too deep into these painful memories, Elsa freezes solid, but not before sending a message to Anna, who subsequently destroys the dam to free the forest and save Elsa.
