Ed's arc as two arcs: commitment to the case, and commitment to Erin specifically. They run together more often than not — but they diverge at the points where the film does the actual work.
Commitment to the case (0–100)Commitment to Erin (0–100)
The two lines diverge in the places where the film makes its sharpest moves. They drop together at the firing (~36m, b13) and rise together through "David and Goliath" (~62m, b19) and the $20M-Hinkley-water rejection (~81m, b28). They split at Kurt Potter's arrival (~90m, b32): Ed's commitment to the case jumps because Potter brings the money, but his commitment to Erin specifically drops because he didn't tell her. Theresa's clinical interviews (~98m, b34) widen the gap. The hallway exchange at ~100m (b35) closes it — "I need you. This case needs you." — and the two lines run together to the $2M envelope at ~121m (b40), where the case-curve and the Erin-curve finally meet at full value.
