The Bad News Bears (1976) Bad News Bears
A sports comedy directed by Michael Ritchie, written by Bill Lancaster, starring Walter Matthau as Morris Buttermaker and Tatum O'Neal as Amanda Whurlitzer. An alcoholic ex-minor-league pitcher is paid to coach an expansion Little League team of misfits in the San Fernando Valley; the team that exists because the league was sued into including them refuses, in the end, to be the inclusion-narrative the league wanted.
