Physical Media Releases (Carrie) Carrie
Carrie earned $33.8 million on a $1.8 million budget in 1976, and its home video afterlife has been correspondingly robust. The film moved through every major format transition -- VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, Blu-ray, 4K UHD -- accumulating special features and improved transfers along the way. The Scream Factory Collector's Edition in 2022 represents the current definitive release.
Early home video releases established the film as a catalog staple
MGM/UA released Carrie on VHS in the early 1980s. The film was a reliable catalog title throughout the VHS era, benefiting from Stephen King's growing fame and the film's reputation as one of the defining horror films of the 1970s. A LaserDisc edition followed from MGM/UA Home Video. The DVD era brought a bare-bones release from MGM Home Entertainment, followed by a Special Edition with supplementary features.
Scream Factory's Collector's Edition Blu-ray (2016) assembled the first comprehensive extras package

Arrow Video released a UK limited edition from the same 4K scan
Arrow Video released its own limited edition 4K Blu-ray in the UK, sourced from the same 2022 4K scan as the Scream Factory release. Waxwork Records released the score on vinyl
Waxwork Records issued a vinyl pressing of Pino Donaggio's original score, adding Carrie to their catalog of horror soundtrack releases. The score -- which Donaggio conceived as tragedy rather than horror -- had previously been available on CD through Kritzerland's encore edition. (waxworkrecords)
